Rain
So much rain, off and on all day long. It started with heavy rain before my alarm. I wasn’t sure if I would need to get up and close my windows or not at first. Luckily I didn’t need to worry about it. After, there was a heavy rain late morning, and another, much longer rain in the late afternoon.
Work
Before lunch we ran around a little bit. Stopped off at the hardware store, and of course couldn’t find what we were looking for. Later in the day, once the rain died down again we headed next door to do a little cushion stripping. They have to get their zippers replaced on the coverings. The walk back was a little wet.
Projects
As you may already have noticed (or maybe not) I’ve done some more work on this site. I wrote a whole rambling post about it. Basically, it all boils down to the fact that I feel it’s time to bring people here. So if you’re here, welcome! Lots of options to stay connected and up to date. I’ll try to find better ways to implement the stuff in the long run, but it’ll do for now.
Branding
Mind you, there’s still a lot more I want to do in regards to all that. One big thing I need to figure out is branding. Right now my branding across social media (and everything, really) is a mess. I really need to get all of that under better control, something more standardized between the platforms. I wonder, are you an artist? Would you like to help?
Updates
I’ve also made a couple of other changes to this site today. Mainly, I didn’t like all the floating badges at the bottom, so I removed the GDPR thing once you accept the terms. No need to keep that floating there, right?
I also moved the ReCaptcha thing to just be inline at the bottom of the page instead of floating because really, who cares about that? Removed the floating TrustMark from McAfee. Instead I replaced that with the new notification option.
The next thing I think I need to do is add some kind of social sharing option to my posts. Not that I think anyone cares to share them, but why wouldn’t I want them to? I’m not sure what to do though. I’ll save that for another day.
I’ve made a few more tweaks to some things. I didn’t really like the way the series box appeared on the pages, so I’ve updated that slightly. I also finally found a way to remove the featured image from showing in the blog roll. Now you just see the words! It was as simple as adding some CSS into my WordPress theme options.
Reading
The Angry GM posted a few articles since the last time I visited. Those were all consumed quickly this morning. I’m really looking forward to reading more about his new gaming group. Still no new Steelshod, it’s been a little while and I’m really looking forward to reading more. Oh goodie! A new part to Small Worlds! I was really hoping for another bit of that. Unfortunately, this one was shorter than I’d like.
Wunderlist
So I’ve decided that since we’ll be using Wunderlist to track stuff for work, I’ll also use it personally. First thing I’ve added is what I mentioned above about easy social media sharing for this site.
