Partial Lockdown Day 41 (Monday)
Dreams
I had the weirdest dream last night. I was an astronaut assigned to a team (of two) to crash Titan into Saturn. Somehow, doing that would help create a colony or something . . . That part wasn’t clear. After the collision both celestial bodies were still intact so my partner and I walked from our base on Titan to the base on Saturn.
Then later something happened to the Saturn base and there was a leak or something during the celebration of a successful mission. Everyone else (there was a group of astronauts now) wouldn’t or couldn’t do anything about it, so I had to suit up and go outside to repair it. I think there was also something about an issue with my suit, but I can’t quite remember.
Work
Another Monday filled with running around. I started off with my usual house walkthroughs. Then I stopped by to pick up rent from a tenant who wasn’t there . . . Gotta try again later. After that was Inland Revenue to turn in some paperwork and pick up a form. I spoke to them about a house we no longer represent, they said to email in about, so I messaged the roommate to hopefully have her do it. But of course, she didn’t want to. So I took the minute to do it when I got back home.
Game Development
I’m continuing to plug away at this thing. Making some progress but not enough. At least I’m able to get myself to work on it everyday. Gotta keep the momentum going!
Partial Lockdown Day 42 (Tuesday)
Work
So, one of our houses got broken into last night. They stole a TV and stereo. Neither were worth too much money but the police are on the case. . . Because of the break-in I had to run around to all the other houses just to make sure they’re okay. No signs of any issues, although at one house I did hide the tv and setup a light on a timer.
Game Development
I’ve continued to dive deep into my game. I’m exploring things I’ve never done before. It’s all a learning experience but I think I’m doing a lot of things wrong. I just don’t have the knowledge to say I’m doing it right. Well, as long as it works the way I want then it’s okay, right?
Partial Lockdown Day 43 (Wednesday)
Curfew(ish)
Last night the government held their first meeting (for hotels, resorts, etc) about the opening of the country for tourists. They will require everyone coming in to have a negative test result within five days of travelling. Once they arrive they need to take another test, then quarantine for four days. All the while they’ll have to wear a bracelet to track them as well as use some kind of app on their phone. I’m not sure exactly where they have to quarantine, but this means that if we do get visitors there will be a much higher work load.
Oh look, the government has extended the curfew for two more weeks. . . Although they have now made it from midnight to five in the morning. What is the point? Why do they bother extending the curfew for two more weeks when they’re opening the country to tourists in two months and there’s a single active case here that’s in quarantine?
Work
So, I headed out to drop off a check and stopped by the construction yard for some pool supplies. After that it was time to hit up my nemesis again. This time I came prepared with oxy shock and cal hypo. Hopefully this will help clean the pool up. The water was actually pretty clear, but there was a lot of stuff on the surfaces. I dropped two pounds of the oxy shock in and added the chlorine. Then I got to work with the brush and scrubbed as much as I could. Hoping the chemicals will kill stuff and the filter will pull it out, but only time will tell.
Game Development
And it continues! I’m happy to have not hit any walls yet. At least none that are insurmountable. So far every challenge I’ve come across has one I’ve solved. All the work I’m doing and stuff I’m learning with IT Ninja will help when I dive back into Space Game. Although, I know there’s a lot of concepts I still don’t fully understand.
Partial Lockdown Day 44 (Thursday)
Gardening
Three of my bell pepper seeds have sprouted! Three tiny little plants are now poking out of the soil and I’m so happy! I’ve been trying to get bell peppers to grow for sooooo long! Of course, they still gotta survive and thrive and give me peppers, but it’s a start!
Game Development
Ugh, today’s work on the game consisted completely of looking for more assets. I know what I want, I just can’t find it anywhere. I have a feeling I’m going to have to do this one custom, although I might be able to piece it together with random images from around the web. It’s also possible I may have to just come up with a new idea for a minigame. . .
Partial Lockdown Day 45 (Friday)
Pools
Oh my god. . . My nemesis was even worse today than when I was there on Wednesday! I don’t know what the fuck is going on, but I’m going to have to go there and clean the pool more often. Three times a week until it’s better? Ugh, I hate that pool! The other pools were no big deal, but that one is really pissing me off.
Cooking
So, I decided to make some dough! I actually have everything I need to make a pizza. Although, I don’t think I’m actually going to make a pizza tonight. One of these days I’ll get around to adding my favorite recipes to this site. I’ve already added the plugins to do it, I just haven’t bothered because it’s a lot of work to do it well and I’m lazy.
Partial Lockdown Day 46 (Saturday)
Accounting
Not a whole lot to do today work-wise so I got caught up on accounting. Just a few expenses to enter and a couple payments. Didn’t take very long. . . I’m sure there’s more I’m forgetting, but I’ll remember at month-end I’m sure.
Game Development
So I didn’t actually work on my game at all, but I did work on the post about what I’ve done recently. You can ready all about the work I’ve put into my mini game here. As I said before, I kinda hit a wall . . . So it’s time to take a break and figure out my next move.
Actually, I did some work on a game after all. Once again, I started a new game. This one is super simple, prolly and idea someone else has come up with before, but by golly, this one is mine! Still a lot to do, but most of the game is actually programming and not pretty graphics. And just like that, I’ve made a complete game. Mind you, there’s still a lot more I can do, tweaks I an make, etc. But technically, it’s a full game.
Partial Lockdown Day 47 (Sunday)
Game Development
I went back in and did a bunch more stuff on that game and it’s getting so much better. I’ve added a difficulty modifier (sorta) and music and other little things. There’s still a lot more I want to do, but for now it’s pretty good. Maybe tomorrow I’ll dive in again and put on the last of the finishing touches.
