Morning
No rain overnight makes me a sad panda. The villa next door still has no water either. I made a run to another villa that I had previously been using, but now it’s out of water. I guess I’ll just have to wait until night or early tomorrow morning and hit one that’s being worked on.
Roof Work
So we have this other villa that was hit hard by Hurricane Irma. The entire roof had to be replaced. We got a local contractor to bid, he completed the work a week or two ago. The owners want to see his receipts for materials before they pay. It makes no sense to me, they agreed on a price, they should at the very least pay now that it’s done.
I kind of understand wanting an invoice for the roof with costs broken down between materials and labor or something. But asking for receipts of what the contractor spent on materials is complete bullshit. It also doesn’t help that he doesn’t have any receipts because he had to go around and source the materials from random people on the island. Not like there’s a well stocked lumber yard here.
But this seems to be the only way he’ll get paid for the roof so I told him to just make something up. Write up some fake receipts that match costs and materials or something close. They want receipts, you want to get paid, just do it and we can all move along. But no, he refuses, instead he wants to talk to the owners directly. Such a shitty situation. I mean really, even in America you don’t get to see what the roofers pay for their materials, you only get to see what you’re billed.
No Man’s Sky
After dealing with the contractor I decided to spend some time farming recipes in No Man’s Sky. I must have used 20 navigation data scanning secure frequencies. After a couple hours I am still missing one recipe I need, the Quantum Processor, to make the real money. At this point I’ve run out of navigation data too. It’s my own fault really for thinking I had enough and selling off some.
Afternoon
Another sammich for lunch today with a side of Lucky Man for entertainment. So far the third season is looking a lot better than the last. Three episodes into the season and I’m definitely enjoying it more than the last. I only stopped because it was time to try my luck at a free key for Raft. Redbeet Interactive has a Twitch stream going where they’re giving away a bunch of keys.
While watching the stream I jumped back into No Man’s Sky to keep farming manufacturing facilities, unfortunately I need one recipe at this point and they’re not giving it. I’ve also run out of navigation data again, so I need to farm a bit more of that first. A little bit of research indicates maybe I need operation centers and not manufacturing facilities. Some people say they share loot tables, some say they’re unique. Guess we’ll see.
Evening
The stream ended without me winning a key. At the fullest there was around 400 people, so my chances weren’t exactly great. I was very hopeful I’d get a free copy of Raft. Eventually I’ll end up buying the game when it goes on sale.
The rest of the night was spent binging the rest of Lucky Man. I really want to know what they’re going to do next season if there is a next season. Of course, this season just ended so it’ll be a while till I get to find anything out.
